Sounds of blackness….
Is anybody up yet?
Again Editor 1 (who unexpectedly returned from his vacation 2 days too early) made very clear to us that we should make a nice warm up for our guest Groover Klein. So all of us played until 2 a.m. to pave the way for our homoured guest.
While Editors 1, 4 and 5 check out the menu of Kimshi Princess, Editor 2 is on his way. GK still on the train.
11:00 pm: Arrival of GK. Quick dinner, drinks. drinks. drinks.
11:30 pm: Soju. Drinks. Vouchers gone in 2 minutes.
11:45 pm: Editor 5 gets headphones.
11:46 pm: Guest list submission. Bouncer eyes Editor 4. Editor 1 starts playing.
12:00 am: Official welcoming of the party people. Where is the microphone? “Ladies and gentlemen…meet the nearly complete DHS head count.” Editor 2 is texting Editor 3.
12.00am-01:50: Everybody drinks Hite. Maekju, maekju and more maekju, then Schnaps again. The dance floor is invaded by beautiful people. Bulgarian posse get a webcast. Editor 2 plays house records (!!!) and doesn`t get banned by his colleagues.
02:00 am: GK plays a wicked set. Dance floor packed. Yes, 80% girls. Another prank, organized by decks.de?
03:15 am: Dancefloor stays packed. Editor 2 has to leave, his celebrity clients need him.
04:15 am: Exctsaccccyyyyyyyy….
04:30 am: Editors 1, 4 and 5 play the selection of their lives.
05:00 am: Editor 4 is still running. No fumes from the ears.
05:30 am: Editor 1 is so happy. Editor 4 and GK are so happy that they came down all the way from from Cologne. Group hug.
05:55 am: Blackness, the void, pre-hangover-phase begins
Blackness gets blacker.
Next Day: Love-O-Love! Editor 4 secretly loggs on to another decks.de account.
Stay tuned for Love Fools Vol. 4.
OK, homies and homiettes, we can reveal that it is @ THE AIR CONDITIONED Soju Bar…which was rated today (18 August 2011) by UK newspaper Guardian as one of the hottest bars of Berlin.
And it is this Friday!!
After the total alco-induced breakdown of our vol. 2 where love songs ruled supreme…this is the sequel with no other than Groover Klein, the veteran DJ who broke breakbeat on the continent at milk! club in the early 90s and introduced the sound to Mannheim, Frankfurt and the Mayday alongside his partner in g!rime Bassface Sascha. After serious writing stints at Spex and Groove, he was hired by Groove Attack because obviously they liked his name (Groove..Groover…hint hint). At Love Fools, Groover Klein will drop love songs galore you can either drink or dance to or both.
