Introducing: The D*ruffalo Tape Squad

Our inbox kept being flooded by readers insisting on us reviving something that we entertained for a few installments ages ago, then gave up upon, because nothing is more boring than converting analogue to digital (legions of interns and assistants will agree). Of course we speak of the seminal D*ruffalo Tape Archive. We could not help noticing that some of our cherished cassettes were not only collecting dust, they were also gradually decomposing. At first, we comforted our own laziness hectic schedule and ignored the idea, but then the reminiscing set in, the memories attached, the good times capured on C-60/90/100. We know, we are hardly ever sentimental, but this time we feel obliged enough to delve into our vast archive and publish some legendary tapes in irregular intervals. And we even start next week…

Watch this space, people.

The D*ruffalo-DJ-self-characterization-Motto-whatever-Watch

No:
“I get bored focusing on one thing. It is hard to find records that please me. I am walking the styles.
Mix the old with the new, mix dark and bright, fast and slow – focus on the feeling. Two records can be made years apart with the most different influences and still carry the same feeling. Play with the context, tell a story, create something new. Communicate, express. I am an artist and a servant. Dancing people make me happy. That´s basically it.“

Yes:
“we drink – you dance!”
